Overview
BierMeister is a beer-themed balance party game that measures your steadiness while holding your phone like a beer stein. Your privacy is paramount. This policy explains what data BierMeister processes, what is stored on your device, and the few optional circumstances under which data may be transmitted.
BierMeister is designed to work completely offline by default. All core gameplay calculations, balance scoring, high scores, and challenge histories remain entirely on your local device. No account creation, login, or registration is required to use the app.
Data may leave your device through only two optional, user-controlled channels: (1) anonymous sensor calibration telemetry and hardware quirks updates (sent only if you explicitly choose to opt in via the in-app consent prompt or Settings), and (2) user-initiated bug and feedback reports via XrayKit (sent only when you initiate a report via shake on calm screens or Settings -> Report a problem, confirm the disclosure dialog, and tap Submit). Neither channel collects personal identifiers, contact information, advertising IDs, or location data.
Data Collection
By default: stays on your device
These items are read and stored on your device only. Nothing is transmitted unless you explicitly opt in.
- Motion sensor readings (accelerometer and gyroscope) - Compute real-time tilt, pitch, roll, and rotational stability to balance the virtual beer stein during active gameplay.
- Gameplay scores and challenge history - Store your top scores and personal challenge history across Quick Sip, Full Pint, and Endurance challenges on device (capped at 1,000 entries, oldest evicted first).
- Consent preferences and sensor quirks version - Store your preference regarding anonymous sensor data contribution along with the local sensor hardware compensation database version integer.
Opt-in: uploaded only with your consent
These items are transmitted only if you enable the corresponding feature. Opting out prevents future uploads.
- Anonymous sensor calibration metrics - Measure accelerometer resting noise, mean gravity magnitude, sampling rate, and jitter to build device-specific sensor profiles. Sent only if you opt in.
- Device model, OS version, hardware chipset, and app version - Paired with calibration data to identify hardware quirks and tune sensor algorithms across device manufacturers and app releases. Sent only if you opt in.
Bug reports only
These items are included only when you manually submit a bug report or feedback from within the app.
- User-typed bug report description (optional) - Describe an issue, unexpected behavior, or feature feedback when submitting an XrayKit report. Sent only after tapping Continue in the disclosure dialog and Submit in the report sheet.
- Screenshot of the active screen (optional) - Provide visual context for diagnosing UI issues in user-submitted bug reports. Optional per report (can be unchecked in the disclosure dialog); a screenshot may show player names typed in party mode. Sent only after tapping Continue then Submit.
- Recent application logs (optional) - In-memory diagnostic logs sanitized to redact emails, tokens, keys, phone numbers, and IP addresses (no player names are logged). Sent only after tapping Continue then Submit.
- Bug report device metadata and anonymous device identifier - Includes device model, OS version, app version, screen resolution, network type, battery percentage, free memory, an ephemeral anonymous Firebase Authentication UID, and an anonymousDeviceId (first 16 hex characters of the SHA-256 hash of ANDROID_ID or identifierForVendor). Sent only after tapping Continue then Submit.
Opt-In Features
The following features transmit data only if you explicitly enable them. They are off by default.
Anonymous sensor data contribution
If you enable Improve Sensor Accuracy in BierMeister Settings (or accept the initial data collection prompt), the app runs a brief background benchmark on your device's accelerometer and gyroscope. The resulting metrics include gravity vector magnitude, sensor sampling rate, timing jitter, noise standard deviation, device manufacturer, device model, hardware chipset, and OS version. The data contains no personal identifiers, no device serial numbers, no advertising IDs, and no user account association. You can disable this feature at any time in Settings.

User-initiated bug reports via XrayKit
Before any bug report data is captured, BierMeister presents an in-app disclosure dialog explaining what is included (your typed description, an optional screenshot of the current screen that you can uncheck, sanitized recent app logs, and device info including an anonymous install ID). Nothing is captured before you tap Continue, and nothing is sent until you tap Submit in the report sheet.

Third-Party Services
BierMeister interacts with the following third-party services. It uses no advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers, and no social media integrations.
- LINC Innovations Sensor Calibration & Quirks API (hosted on AWS) - Receives voluntary anonymous sensor calibration profiles (POST /receive-profile) and serves updated sensor hardware compensation tables (GET /get-quirks). Hosted on AWS infrastructure by LINC Innovations.
When used: Only if you opt in to the corresponding feature · Privacy policy - Firebase (Google) - project linc-xraykit-prod - Backend for user-initiated bug reports submitted through XrayKit (Firebase Authentication for ephemeral anonymous accounts, Cloud Firestore for structured bug reports, and Cloud Storage for optional screenshots). Triggered only when you confirm the disclosure dialog and tap Submit.
When used: Only when you submit a bug report · Privacy policy
Data Retention
- Local data: All local gameplay scores, challenge history (up to 1,000 games), consent preferences, and cached sensor calibration profiles are retained solely on your device. You can permanently erase all local data at any time by clearing BierMeister's app storage in your device Settings or by uninstalling the application.
- Uploaded data: Anonymous sensor calibration profiles submitted through the opt-in feature are retained indefinitely to maintain and enhance sensor hardware profiles across device models. Because these records contain zero user identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP logs, they are anonymous and cannot be linked to any individual user for selective retrieval or deletion.
- Bug reports: Bug reports submitted through XrayKit are sent only upon your explicit action. Screenshot attachments in Firebase Storage and structured report records in Firestore carry a 90-day retention lifecycle (expiresAt = timestamp + 90 days). To request earlier deletion of a report you submitted, contact hello@lincinnovations.com with the approximate date and category of your report.
Children's Privacy
BierMeister is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in applicable European jurisdictions). The application features a beer and Oktoberfest tavern aesthetic, including beer stein visuals, liquid foam animations, and stability challenges. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The optional sensor data collection feature requires explicit user opt-in in Settings.
Your Rights
Residents of California (CCPA), the European Union (GDPR), and similar jurisdictions have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about them, and to opt out of certain data uses. Because BierMeister does not collect personal identifiers tied to individuals, some of these rights may not apply as usually framed. Contact us at hello@lincinnovations.com to exercise any rights under applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as BierMeister evolves. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in-app when possible.
