Overview

PrecisionLevel is a digital spirit level and inclinometer app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data PrecisionLevel collects and how it is used.

PrecisionLevel works entirely offline by default. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, usage analytics, or device information unless you explicitly opt in.

Data Collection

By default — stays on your device

These items are read and stored on your device only. Nothing is transmitted unless you explicitly opt in.

Accelerometer readings — Compute tilt, level, and inclination in real time during app use

Opt-in — uploaded only with your consent

These items are transmitted only if you enable the corresponding feature. Opting out prevents future uploads.

Anonymous sensor calibration data — If you opt in to data collection in Settings, PrecisionLevel submits accelerometer calibration offsets and noise profiles to help improve measurement accuracy across devices
Device model and OS version — Stored with calibration data to build per-device calibration profiles
App version — Stored with calibration data to correlate measurements across app versions

Opt-In Features

The following features transmit data only if you explicitly enable them. They are off by default.

Anonymous sensor data contribution

If enabled in Settings, PrecisionLevel submits anonymous sensor calibration offsets and noise profiles to help improve measurement accuracy. The data includes accelerometer calibration offsets, device model, OS version, and app version. It contains no user ID, no device ID, no IP address logging, no name, and no email. You can disable this at any time in Settings.

Third-Party Services

PrecisionLevel interacts with the following third-party services. It uses no advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers, and no social media integrations.

Bitdrift — Lightweight performance telemetry (app startup time, memory usage). Active only if you opt in to data collection.
When used: Only if you opt in to the corresponding feature · Privacy policy
AWS (Amazon) — Calibration data backend hosted by LINC Innovations
When used: Only if you opt in to the corresponding feature

Data Retention

Local data: Not applicable — PrecisionLevel does not store any sensor data locally beyond the current measurement session.
Uploaded data: Anonymous sensor calibration profiles are retained indefinitely to maintain calibration accuracy. Because the data is anonymous (no user, device, or IP identifier is sent), individual deletion requests cannot be processed.
Bug reports: Not applicable — PrecisionLevel does not submit crash reports or bug reports without user action.

Children's Privacy

PrecisionLevel does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The optional data collection feature requires explicit opt-in in Settings.

Your Rights

Residents of California (CCPA), the European Union (GDPR), and similar jurisdictions have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about them, and to opt out of certain data uses. Because PrecisionLevel does not collect personal identifiers tied to individuals, some of these rights may not apply as usually framed. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as PrecisionLevel evolves. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in-app when possible.
