Common questions

The cup is not filling during my workout.
DawnCup needs permission to read your heart rate. On Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to Privacy & Security → Health, and confirm DawnCup is allowed to read Heart Rate. On Wear OS, check the app’s Body Sensors permission in Settings. If the cup still does not move, the workout may not have started - make sure you tapped Start and the timer is running.
Does tracking keep working when I drop my wrist?
Yes. DawnCup runs a real workout session, so the app keeps accumulating intensity when the screen turns off and your wrist is down. If you find tracking stopping mid-workout, please email us with your watch model and watchOS or Wear OS version - that is a bug and we want it.
What is a join code, and where do I get one?
A join code is a short code for a single event’s leaderboard. Whoever is running the event creates it and shares it with the room - usually written on a card or projected on a screen. You only need one if you want to post a score to that event’s board. DawnCup works fully without a join code; the board is an optional extra, not a sign-in.
Do I need an account?
No. DawnCup has no account, no sign-in and no ads. It never asks for your email address, phone number, location or contacts.
Do I need a phone to use it?
No. Workouts run on the watch on their own. The phone app is a read-only viewer for event boards - handy if you want to follow along without wearing a watch.
How do I remove my name from an event board?
Email us at hello@lincinnovations.com with the event join code and the display name you used, and we will delete the entry. Entries also delete themselves automatically 30 days after they are posted, and events expire 90 days after they are created.
How do I delete my data?
Workout history lives on your watch. Uninstalling DawnCup permanently deletes all of it. Workout upload is off unless you switch it on; if you turned it on and want uploaded records removed, email us and we will handle it.
